Meet the Doctor

  • Dr. Shannon Chrivia

Dr. Shannon Chrivia (kriv-ee-aye) is your hometown chiropractor.  She was born and raised in Hale. While pursuing her undergraduate studies on track to becoming an optometrist, she developed severe and ongoing headaches.  After months of masking the pain with over the counter drugs, on the suggestion of a friend, she sought out chiropractic care. Receiving pain relief gave her such gratitude and appreciation for the power of chiropractic. Not only did the chiropractor stop the headaches, he also changed her career path in an instant.   For her undergraduate studies, Dr. Shannon (as her patients call her) attended both Mott Community College in Flint and Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant. She then obtained her Bachelor's degree in Human Biology and her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the prestigious Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, Minnesota.  Dr. Shannon graduated from Northwestern in 1998 and eagerly returned to her hometown to serve her community.  'It is an honor to offer quality, skilled, effective chiropractic care to this community. This area has always been near and dear to my heart. I can't imagine practicing anywhere else,'says Dr. Shannon.

Dr. Shannon prides herself on her hands on approach to chiropractic. 'I believe strongly in the power of the adjustment. It is the primary catalyst for the body to begin to heal itself.'  Under Dr. Shannon's care, spinal alignment and the state of musculature is addressed equally during the course of evaluation and treatment. Dr. Shannon utilizes several treatment techniques, including Diversified, Activator, Thompson, Active Release and SOT. Dr. Shannon works diligently with each patient to deliver the type of care that works best.  Some patients require a more forceful approach while others require a much more gentle technique. Dr. Shannon has the superb ability to adapt her care to the patient's needs.

Dr. Shannon is a board certified family chiropractor treating patients of all ages. She also has specialized treatments for pediatric, maternity and sports related injuries. Dr. Shannon is here to help every person regain their true self by ridding them of the pain and helping them reach their maximum health potential. Testimonials

Reviews By Our Satisfied Patients

  • "Great 1st visit with Dr. Shannon! Being a nearly 30 year chiropractic patient AND chiropractic assistant new to the area, I she came highly recommended by my neighbor & friend. I can say with all honesty that she is through, a great adjuster and has a great 'table-side manner'. No pushy "come in 3x per week" or "buy these vitamins" like some chiropractors. Just gives you what you need."

  • "I will drive to Hale from Tawas to see Shannon. She know what she's doing, gives the necessary advice for optimal after care (you just have to do it if you want to quit hurting) and she's the most thorough Chiropractor I know comparatively to any in Tawas, so the drive is worth it. I've told some people that if you need to leave with some of the same pain, especially when you felt the crunch. You'll feel better tomorrow. Pain builds character"
